THE WORKSHOP
Artistic direction: Fr. Pavlos Stefanakis
"Lithos Zon" is a family-run mosaic art studio based in Crete. This endeavor was initiated by Fr. Pavlos, who has always had his wife (Presvytera) and children as valued and steadfast collaborators; they provide essential support at every stage—from the initial preparation to the final execution—of the projects.
The Journey of Fr. Pavlos
Engagement with mosaic art began in 2008. Initial studies took place at a specialized school, while a deeper, more substantial immersion followed later, when the artist had the privilege of receiving guidance from a Greek monastery with a long-standing tradition in the art of mosaics.
STUDY & CREATION PROCESS
1. Initial Contact
You get in touch with us, and we discuss your needs and the concept for the project.

If a specific design already exists, we review it and adapt it to the space. Alternatively, we can propose our own design, tailored specifically to the dimensions and character of the space.
3. Study of Materials & Preparation
Before construction begins, the following are agreed upon:
- the composition
- the dimensions
- the materials
- the aesthetic
- the details
4. Completion & Installation
Each piece is crafted in our workshop and subsequently transported or shipped for its final installation on the wall or above the church entrance, ensuring seamless integration and long-term durability.
